Permits & Licensing

 

Building & Development Permits

The Town of Carnduff requires a permit whenever work it o be undertaken to erect, move, place, construct, alter, reconstruct, repair, renovate, demolish, remove or occupy a building.  It is also required for accessory buildings and decks.   

Exemptions Include: cosmetic repairs and renovations which do not involve any structural alterations or additions to the superstructure.  This may include but not limited to: new flooring, paint, trim or light fixtures; new kitchen cabinets, although they must meet minimum clearing requirements; replacing shingles or siding with like material; replacing windows if they are the same size.

Fence

 
Requires a development permit ONLY. 

Things to note on a fence:

-- No hedge, fence, or other structure shall be erected past any property line.
-- In a required front yard, to a height no greater than 1.0 meters (3 ft) above grade level.
-- In a required rear yard, to a height no greater than 2.0 meters (6 ft) above grade level.

Residential Home Projects (Ex. new home, renovation, addition, basement development, garage, sheds, solar panels, decks, etc)

 
Requires a development and building permit.

For further clarification please contact our office at 306.482.3300 or for PBI specific questions you are welcome to contact them directly.  Once you have completed the appropriate forms and information please submit it to the Administration office.  It can also be emailed to info@carnduff.ca.  Once received by our office the development permit will be reviewed and if found as a permitted use and meets all zoning requirements, the application will be submitted to PBI for a plan review.

Commercial Buildings (Including: Multi-Unit Residential, Commercial, Industrial & Institutional)

Requires a development and building permit.

FAQ's

What is a Site Plan? 
A Site plan needs to include the property (lot) dimensions and shape; indicate location of North; building project size and distance from property lines, other buildings on property, easements, driveway, etc.
 
What is an Architectural Plan? 
An Architectural plan includes floor plans, exterior elevations, cross section, exit locations, window and door type and size, etc.
 

Dog Licenses

Licenses can be obtained from the Town Office during regular office hours. An individual license is $20.00 per calendar year per dog. All licenses must be renewed before March 31 of the following year. A licensing infraction can be penalized with fine of $30.00 and $50.00.

Business Licenses

Licenses can be obtained by visiting the Town Office. Business licenses are approved by our town administrator or clerk for a specified fee depending on the nature of the business. All licenses are subject to the Business License bylaw that is available on this website.
